State Of The Union, Public Enemy’s return

Public Enemy, a rap group whose songs are widely recognised as protest anthems (including, of course, Fight the Power), have made their comeback on the music scene with a track produced by DJ Premier.

The song, available to be downloaded for free on Public Enemy’s website, is entitled State Of The Union (STFU). It’s a truthful and tough statement against Trump’s politics and is accompanied by a reel of images from the antiracist protests that swept the US after George Floyd’s murder.

The press release for the new track states that Public Enemy  have made “a fiery return to the frontlines as they take on Donald Trump and his fascist regime … An unflinching statement about the destruction the current administration has unleashed on the country and its people, ‘State of the Union (STFU)’ speaks truth to power while urging people to fight against racism, injustice and oppression with their vote”.
