In the last few years, we are seeing a rapid increase in the spread of bacteria and viruses and, mostly, in their ability to resist to different treatments. This induced the scientific community to look for plant-derived extracts that can alleviate the infections of the respiratory system. These include cistus, an effective remedy in case of winter respiratory disorders such as cold.

The extract bonds directly to viral surface proteins, as in the case of rhinoviruses that cause the most common types of cold. It also fosters the first line of immune defense that everyone has from birth. You can find it in combination with Echinacea Purpurea as a remedy for winter cold.

Cistus incanus, also known as pink rock rose, is an evergreen shrub found in the Mediterranean coasts of the Cistaceae family. It blooms from March to June with bright pink ruffle flowers. It is a pyrrophyta plant that grows spontaneously in the soil eroded by fires, in scrub areas, arid grassland and chalky zones on the shores of the Mediterranean basin.

Just recently, its liquid extract is commonly used. This contains a large amount of polymeric polyphenols with a peculiar composition that makes it a perfect remedy against inflammation: protocatechuic acid, kaempferol, myricetin, quercetin, epigallocatechin, catechins, rutin, procyanidins, proanthocyanidins, gallic acid.
