Moby releases 4 hours of free ambient music for those who practice yoga and meditation
Moby has shared in his site a free album of ambient music designed for those who practice yoga and meditate as he does.
It is entitled Long Ambients1: Calm. Sleep. It’s Moby’s new album, it comes three years after Innocents and is downloadable for free on the singer’s official website. But, more importantly, it is a work designed for those who practice holistic disciplines such as yoga and meditation, or for those who suffer from a lack of sleep. The record is also available in main streaming services including Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Deezer and Tidal.
Moby, the activist
Moby, full name Richard Melville Hall, is a DJ and producer of electro-music who sold 10 million copies of his 1999 album Play, which tells the story of his international success, then told even in the more recent autobiography Porcelain. The musician adopts a healthy lifestyle, follows a vegan diet and actively stands up for the animals’ rights. He owns a vegan restaurant in Los Angeles and became a yoga enthusiast a long time ago.
With Long Ambients1: Calm. Sleep Moby wants to raise awareness on the benefits of yoga and meditation for people’s health. The album includes 11 instrumental ambient songs that Moby initially recorded for himself. “Over the last couple of years I’ve been making really really really quiet music to listen to when I do yoga or sleep or meditate or panic. I ended up with 4 hours of music and have decided to give it away”, he commented. He then specified that “it’s really quiet: no drums, no vocals, just very slow calm pretty chords and sounds and things for sleeping and yoga”.
