Orange cake without butter
Orange cake without butter. An excellent orange sponge that can also be used for the preparation of other cakes.
Ingredients
150 g of flour
80 g of sugar
2 eggs
100 ml of extra virgin olive oil
1 orange, grated peel and juice
Preheat the oven at 180°C. Grease with oil and sprinkle with flour a cake pan of about 21 cm that opens. Add eggs and sugar and, using a food processor whip for a while until you obtain a quite compact mousse. Clean the orange, grate its peel and squeeze it to extract the juice. Add oil to taste, the orange juice and peel to the egg and sugar mixture.
While mixing from the bottom to the top, gently add the flour. Continue stirring carefully. Bake for about 30 minutes. Do the toothpick test for doneness.
Let the orange cake without butter cool, sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar and serve. As an alternative, you can use this orange sponge to prepare other cakes.
