This pleasantly sour fruit is generally eaten raw, but it can also be an ingredient of many main courses based on meat. In Eastern countries, raw pomegranates are flavoured with rose water. The fruits are gathered when they’re ripe, so, when the peel is yellow-earth and the flesh ruby red. When gathered too early pomegranates are not edible, because once you gather them, they don’t ripen.

It is a great source of vitamin A and C and rich in group B vitamins as well as potassium. It fights intestinal parasites (peels) and bacteria (grain oil).
